QBE Insurance Group has today announced that Jason Harris has been appointed as CEO, International, succeeding Richard Pryce who will retire at the end of 2020. This role, which reports to Pat Regan, Group CEO, forms part of the group executive committee. Harris joins QBE from AXA XL where he held the role of chief executive, global property and casualty, and had responsibility for financial lines, construction, engineering, ART and risk engineering.

Chubb piles US$10 million into global COVID-19 relief efforts

Playing its part in the fight against the global pandemic, Chubb has announced that it is committing US$10 million to COVID-19 relief efforts around the world.

A release said that Chubb will be working with a range of partner organisations in the US and other countries to offer essential resources in areas most at need. Organisations the insurer will collaborate with include those that provide emergency medical equipment and supplies to healthcare facilities, and community foodbanks.

China’s Ping An Insurance brings medical supplies to the UK

In response to the Extraordinary G20 Leaders’ Summit’s call to support various nations in the fight against the global coronavirus pandemic, Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China is donating approximately RMB10 million worth of medical supplies to the UK.

The donation spans 100,000 surgical masks, 100,000 pairs of gloves, 10,000 safety goggles, 10,000 hand sanitisers, 10,000 face masks, 10,000 COVID-19 diagnostic test kits, 4,000 sets of protective clothing, and 15 respirators.
