NTUC launches usage-based electric vehicle offering


NTUC Income has announced that it now offering usage-based auto insurance coverage for electric vehicles (EV), according to a Straits Times report.

The insurance cooperative told the news outlet that EV owners can now choose between three types of plans that allow them to pay premiums set to the mileage of their vehicle.

Seized Ever Given’s release moves forward


The release of the now infamous Ever Given vessel is in the offing.

In an update, the UK P&I Club stated: “The UK Club is pleased to announce that, following extensive discussions with the Suez Canal Authority’s (SCA) negotiating committee over the past few weeks, an agreement in principle between the parties has been reached.

“Together with the owner and the ship’s other insurers, we are now working with the SCA to finalise a signed settlement agreement as soon as possible. Once the formalities have been dealt with, arrangements for the release of the vessel will be made.”

MAS highlights areas of improvement for Singapore’s financial advisers


The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has released the results of its third mystery shopping exercise, which found that, while majority of recommendations made by financial advisers met the mystery shoppers’ protection and investment needs, there are still areas the industry must work on.

According to MAS, the exercise was conducted on 500 financial adviser (FA) representatives from 12 firms from mid-2018 to end-2019.
