The School of Strategy and Leadership is one of four schools in the Faculty of Business and Law and is home to subject disciplines in International Business, Strategy, Leadership and Business Management, Supply Chain Management and Logistics, Business Analytics and Digital Transformation, and Project and Risk Management. The School is the largest in the Faculty and is comprised of a wide range of programmes and an increasing number of activities in the area of enterprise and innovation. Our collaborative and supportive ethos builds a strong community of academics and makes it a place where people want to work. As a Curriculum Lead, you will join the School Leadership Team (SLT) to lead the Leadership and Business Management curriculum. This is the largest curriculum and includes courses and modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in business management, change management, cross-cultural management, ethical leadership, global leadership, organisational behaviour, and strategic leadership. We also have thriving executive education and apprenticeship provisions with opportunities to expand. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who will join the SLT to drive the School’s vision and ambitions for this curriculum and to support staff in effective delivery of high-quality courses. The role-holder will have strategic responsibility for leading curriculum development and for managing the allocation of resources to ensure performance and growth targets are achieved. In working with a range of stakeholders, the Curriculum Lead will also play an active role in enhancing the research/scholarly culture and deepening our engagement with professional practice, international partners, accreditation bodies, alumni, and relevant connected organisation.
Person Specification
The successful candidate should have:
- PhD or equivalent professional experience in a related subject.
- Significant teaching experience at higher education level with evidence of successful delivery of student learning outcomes.
- A record of achievement in Leadership and Business Management curricula development and management. This includes resource and line management, and the ability to advise, monitor and implement good practice.
- Experience of working on research/scholarly projects or contracts, supported by evidence of contribution to appropriate output.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Relevant professional body experience, such as CMI, will be desirable in this position.
