My-insurer, a Singaporean insurance start-up, has received the Data Protection Trustmark (DPTM) certification from government bodies Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) and Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA).
According to the PDPC’s website, the certification is “a visible indicator that an organisation adopts sound data protection practices.”
My-insurer is the 33rd entity to receive the certification since it was introduced in 2019. Other recipients include AIG, Great Eastern, StarHub, and DBS.
The start-up, which was founded in 2017 by former AXA executive Matthias de Ferrieres, developed an insurance wallet mobile application that helps intermediaries manage insurance sales and renewals. Meanwhile, policyholders can use the application to view their entire insurance portfolio, along with benefits, premiums, and other policy details.
“It’s a huge step for our start-up as we join the very restricted group of companies that made it to the DPTM certification,” said de Ferrieres. “It took us 1.5 years of audit that required multiple operations, administration, process, and governance adjustments.”
“With more than 400 financial advisors using our platform, our ambition is to be the unique comprehensive insurtech that provides what matters to insurance intermediaries to do their jobs in an ethical way, while offering different services to their leads and clients,” the founder-CEO added.
