After two years of cancellations, the North Shore Business Improvement Association is gearing up to host the seventh annual Overlanders Day.
Patti Philips Director of Marketing for the North Shore says she is eager to have the event back up and running.
“Its fun in the way that everybody is so excited to get back to events and get back to some normalcy and everybody is just so excited about having events outside especially and the Overlanders is such a good family festival.”
Whether you’re a senior, a child, or any age in between, Philips says there will be activities for everyone.
“We have ten different food vendors, from everything from mini donuts to Italian food to chocolate icecream to Indian food to pizzas, you name it,”
She says there will also be music and dancing on the entertainment stage which will include Jeremy Kneeshaw Dueling pianos, Dave Coalmine, Pokotillo Ukrainian Dancers, and Mad Scientists Raggae.
“If you’re a senior, you can come and grab some food and sit down in front of the entertainment stage and watch some music and enjoy that, or you can go around to the business and community expo-we are going to have over 75 vendors.”
Those who attend will also see a petting zoo, a kids zone, a toonie swim and much, much more.
Phillips adds that there will also be a pizza eating contest in which both kids and adults can sign up for.
“In the past we’ve done watermelon we’ve done cherry pie, but this year we decided to do pizza eating.”
Due to the difficult past two years, Philips says its been difficult with sponsorships for many events however, she adds that she is grateful for Interior Savings who’s this years title sponsor and all the other businesses and organizations who helped support the 2022 event.
Interior Savings Overlanders Day is set for July 24 from 10 am to 3 pm at Brocklehurst Park.
